You have finished at the top of the 21 week standings.

Ralph, Tony, Stewart, JR, Erin and Jack have showed great sportsmanship. Always willing to give a helping hand to their fellow players, making sure the courts are groomed and ready for play. Making sure our photo albums of events and nights of play are fun for everyone to enjoy. Getting a hose and hand washing unit when we most needed it. Always there early to help set up for events, adding light to the shed and the list goes on.

Congratulations to all of you and we will

see all of you in the playoffs.

It has been really exciting to watch a lot of our new teams grow while having

a wonderful time learning with trial and errors.

With a Pasta Feed being served for ALL members to celebrate another successful season on Sunday September 23rd at 11:30.

Members are Free, guests are $5.00

Specifics for the Championship Round on Sat. Sept. 22 are:

Where:   Julliard Park

Time:      9:00 a.m. Games begin;  Practice starts @ 8:00 a.m.

Participants:  Top 4 teams from Mon, Wed, Thurs. AND top 2 teams from Tue.

                      AND 2 teams with best record from either Mon, Wed, or Thur.

Format:   Round Robin then head-to-head team competitions.

Specifics for the Consolation Round on Sun, Sept. 23, are:

When:    Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012

Where:   Julliard Park

Time:      9:30 a.m. Games begin;  Practice starts @ 8:30 a.m.

Participants:  All Teams not playing in Championship Round on Sat. Sept 22.

Format:   Round Robin then head-to-head team competitions.

Playoff pairings, etc. will be determined as the final week’s play unfolds.

Play will be in accordance with league rules.  Additional information and any questions will be addressed the day of the playoffs.

This is a wonderful event that is coming to Sonoma County and being recognized nationally.

This event is going to just keep growing and growing. I know that many of you have participated in

other Senior Games and have had lots of fun. The monies raised go

to a very wonderful organization “Council on Aging”

Let’s get some teams together and have some fun.

Dear Sonoma County Bocce Federation!

Happy new year to all in Sonoma!  I am writing to you to make you aware of the 2012 Maureen Albanese Bocce Tournament, February 11, 2012.  This is the 15^th annual (and consecutive) and it would be great to have a few teams from Sonoma participate.

At our recent USBF meeting, we made a decision to NOT require USBF cards for individuals to participate in Open Rules tournaments  this year.  The main reason for this decision was to simply promote the sport of bocce to the masses.  I am hopeful you will spread the word of this news, and also participate in the 2012 Maureen Albanese Valentine’s Day Bocce Tournament in Los Gatos.

Sign up early and tell all of your friends, it is sure to be a fun day seeing everyone together again, and hopefully some new faces as well!  The contact person is Cassie Lebaron and she can be reached at 408-395-7650.  Spots will only be held with payment, and for your convenience we will be accepting Credit Cards for payment. (Visa, Master Card, AMEX)

Since there will be so many teams, I will be doing the draw ahead of time, therefore registration for the event will CLOSE on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.   Be sure to fill out the registration form ASAP with your teams information so that the planning can begin. (The draw will take place on Thursday, February 9, in Los Gatos, starting times will not be posted!)

We will once again have a HOT breakfast at 7:30AM, with registration at the same time, and play will begin promptly at 9AM!  The entry fee is $40 per player or $160 per team.  This includes two meals, at least three games of Bocce, prize money to the top 4 teams, and of course tons of fun!  We are looking forward to the event and look forward to seeing you soon and getting the 2012 Bocce season under way!

Top four teams from each night will play on Saturday, and I hope all will come to

cheer the teams on.   Look for final scores to be posted Thursday night.

The scores are still so very close it is truly down to the wire.

Our Mission… have as much fun as we possibly can

• Start time: 10:00 am (come early for practice)
• Food: Pack a lunch for yourself (eat between games)
• Bring: a bottle of wine (plastic cups)
• Bring: a bottle of beer (pour into a plastic cup)
• Bring: a chair, sunscreen
• Bring: a snack or dessert to share

Please note; if someone not playing would like to volunteer to host the registration table and help guide new players that would be greatly appreciated.
